Fundraising Curry & Quiz Evening
Monday 14th October. The evening starts with a curry at the Buck Inn, Pontlliw, followed by a general knowledge quiz to decide the Brain of Penllergare 2013! By invitation only – for Friends and volunteers.
Our new visitor centre is opening on Friday 20th September and we hope to be open 7 days per week thanks to the commitment of our volunteers. We already have a strong team of over 20 local people running it but in order to open we still need help on:
Tuesday afternoons (1pm – 4pm)
Thursdays (10am – 1pm and 1pm – 4pm)
Friday afternoons (1pm – 4pm)
Saturdays (10am – 1pm and 1pm – 4pm)
Sunday afternoons (1pm – 4pm)
Wednesday 4th September. To respond to and answer questions and concerns about the work going on in the woods at present, we are holding monthly informal meetings in the Woodland Centre. These meetings are open to anyone. 4.30pm. Hope to see you there.
The Penllergare Trust’s monthly project review and planning meeting took place in the Woodland Centre on Thursday 18th July. There were also contract review meetings with both W B Griffiths (Car park/ Visitor Centre and Llewelyn bridge) and also Kingcombe Aquacare (lake works). Here’s a progress update:
Blaenymaes Meet the Neighbours Drop In Session
5th July. Find out more about how the Penllergare Trust is managing Penllergare Valley Woods, what’s happening with the restoration project over the next 12 months and how you could get involved! We’ll be happy to answer any of your questions. We’ll be at the Spark Blaenymaes Shop from 12pm to 3pm.
15th June 2013. Join volunteer ranger, Keith Clements and woodland warden, Edward Tucker, for a wildflower walk at Penllergare Valley Woods. 2pm. Meet at the Council Office Car Park. Donations welcome. Wear sturdy footwear.
A group working to transform one of Swansea’s finest beauty spots is looking for volunteers.
Penllergare Trust has come up with a volunteer wishlist to help with its massive restoration project at Penllergare Valley Woods.
The list comprises film-makers, photographers, researchers, rangers, surveyors, guided walk leaders, marketing assistants, and admin assistants.
