Volunteer Rangers walk the woods individually or in groups on a regular basis at times convenient to them in order to ensure a positive, safe and welcoming experience for all.
The Penllergare Trust will be organising a taster session for those wishing to be a volunteer ranger on Tuesday 16th April from 9.30am – 1pm.
The half-day will involve a brief introduction to the project and an overview of the volunteer ranger role, followed by an opportunity to have a go at a volunteer ranger project together with the Estate Manager and other potential volunteer rangers. The projects could involve path patrolling, getting familiar with the routes, maps and waymarkers, wildlife surveying and more. It’s an opportunity to learn how to be our eyes and ears and how to report information back to the Trust to ensure a safe and welcoming experience for all.
We’ll be meeting at the woodland centre. You’ll need to wear strong sturdy footwear and waterproofs (if it’s wet). Don’t forget a packed lunch too.
The taster session will give you a great insight into the volunteer ranger role in a friendly and supportive environment. We hope you can make it.
