A big thank you to everyone who entered our WILD February photography competition! Today, Trustee and Company Treasurer – Helen Thomas, judged the entries. It was a tough decision! We had everything from wild waterfalls to wildlife.

Congratulations to Aaron Davies (Fforestfach, Swansea) for taking first prize. His photograph titled “Juvenile Cormorant Overlooking Lower Lake” will be entered into the annual competition where the top 3 photographs of 2013 will be made into postcards. Helen chose this one in particular because it was very atmospheric for the time of year.

Congratulations also to Pippa Carvell (Cockett, Swansea) and Emily Dougherty (Swansea) for being chosen as the runners up. We wish we could share more entries with you – there really were some smashing ones this month.

Our March Photography Competition is now open. The theme is “History/Old”. There are plenty of “historical/old things” to photograph in Penllergare Valley Woods don’t you think?!? Send your entries to contact@penllergare.org with a caption, your name and contact details. Click here to find out more about how to enter.
